Ever Forward During COVID-19

COVID-19 is an historic event for all of us. Life has been very different for everyone in a truly global sense and we are right there with you. We want to encourage our clients, our neighbors and our community amidst all of the fear and uncertainty (and lack of toilet paper!) to continue to look up and continue forward. The Rock Paper Simple team certainly is!

Our team and client meetings have gone fully remote from our homes as of this past week, and we are offering video and conference call meetings instead of in-person, so we can be fully available to our clients as we partner with them to keep things moving as best we can. Our daily morning Zoom team check-ins have been just as fun as those in-office alley-rallies we normally have… just minus the freshly ground coffee!

“Ever Forward” is a motto I have lived by and now it is more meaningful that ever. It means that no matter what challenges are ahead of us, there is always a way forward. Our prayers are with all of you, and I truly believe that we will get through this better if we do it together (well, together at least 6 feet away from each other).

We’d like to invite you to join us in helping make a difference in our community, even while things are feeling a bit scary. In that spirit, below we share about a local business we all know and love and two non-profits we support that could use your help.

Supporting a local business that has given back to our community for 30+ years

One of our clients, Chris Conneen, owner of Brevard County’s Pizza Gallery & Grill, as well as 28 North Gastropub, shared the below message recently, and we wanted to share it with you. Standing together as a community makes all the difference in times like these. The hospitality industry is one of those very hard hit, so we have supported them during this time and hope you will too. Pizza Gallery is offering full menu for curbside service at a 20% discount and they are delivering the full menu with Bite Squad.

Chris’ Message (originally posted on Facebook):

“I don’t usually go to social media for these types of thoughts or actions, but I’m definitely feeling compelled to do so now.

The Hospitality Industry is one of America’s Greatest Industries and they are currently being hit with the first of several Economic Tsunamis due to COVID-19! Larger companies and even most independent operators should be able to sustain a 30-90 day hit, but I’m confident in saying that less than 10% of our industries workers can go more than 30 days without any income.

While I’m currently facing really hard decisions that will affect 100+ team members and their families, I want to share my experience, strength and hope and confidently say. “We will get through this together”. Philippians 4:6 says, “Do Not Be Anxious About Anything” and 1 Peter 4:10 “Calls us to use whatever gifts you have to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s Grace!!! I LOVE this industry and our hospitality community and want to serve them now more than ever!!! So I’m committed to seeking every resource there is, both private and public, to support the front line workers of our Local Hospitality Industry!!!

Please DM me if you want to help or have another resource that can assist serving those who serve us every day…

Teammates in Community,

Chris Conneen

Brevard Rescue Mission is OPEN and new families are being served

Another shining beacon of light right here in Brevard Rescue Mission (BRM), as they continue to serve homeless women and children through all that is going on. Stacia Long Glavas, Founder / CEO of BRM, released an update video and we encourage you to give it a watch. You can find the video below. Stacia, you and your team inspire us!

October Rock Paper Simple Hangout – Hitting the bowling lanes!

Rock-Paper-Simple-Goes-BowlingOn October 16th at 4pm, cut out of work a bit early and hangout with the Rock Paper Simple team at Brunswick Harbour Lanes.

If you get rocking and rolling before 5, they have a deal for two hours of bowling at only $10.95 per person… it’s a few dollars more if you come after 5.

We plan to share plenty of laughs and good times… so don’t miss it! When you get there, ask for the Rock Paper Simple crowd.

Remember that we get together every month and we invite our friends, colleagues, clients and the community to join us! Next month we plan to hit the beach (you better believe frisbee and volleyball will be involved)!

Click here to RSVP on Facebook!

We Got a Shiny Addy Award!

Rock Paper Simple - Addy Award 2015No, really! It’s shiny…

…the award has this silver foil-stamping going on that makes it look really really official and important. Anyways, the team is excited that we were awarded a Silver Addy this year for our work with Global Xchange on their website.

Russ Wood and Chris Jones were really the key guys on this one and I give them kudas for doing such a wonderful job. I also have to thank the client for being so darn awesome, because without great clients we can’t do great work. We strive to serve our web design clients here in Melbourne, Florida as well as across the country with the absolute best service we can and being able to compete for awards along the way just pushes us even harder to make sure our work is the absolute best it can be.

And here’s the Global Xchange website!

Another one of our awesome clients makes Inc500!

Check it out… one of our clients hit Inc500, #126!!! We love it when we get to work with such AWESOME people. But listen to what they told the Orlando Sentinel:

Dew Sheahan freely admits that other companies offer services similar to his fast-growing Oviedo-based Virtual Fleet Supervisor. But with 3000-percent growth reported in one year, Sheahan said there are a few secrets to his success. One of them is simply website design.

“Our website design was critical. I’ve never met many of my clients in person. A few of the local ones, but most come through our website and we ship the product to them,” Sheahan said.
